The entire Philadelphia arts community mourns the passing of Khalia Robinson, a multitalented artist and community advocate. Only 44 years old, she leaves behind three children, as well as hundreds of people whose lives she affected.
We got to know Khalia when she hosted our All But True author reading series at Mighty Writers West for several years. She was a great enthusiast for our programs and helped arrange a spectacular event that included Mighty Writers students.
Khalia died from a stray bullet near her home. Her passing is yet another tragedy in the epidemic of gun violence sweeping the nation. Click here for an obituary published in The Philadelphia Inquirer.
