Since the publication of Ways of Walking last year, the anthology's editor, Ann de Forest, has become involved with walk•listen•create, an international group of "walking artists." Now, with that organization, she has begun a series of online events called WALKING AMERICA: writers in conversation. It will feature American authors for whom walking is a key part of their artistic experience.
The first program is coming up right away: November 29, 2023, at 4 p.m. Eastern time, with authors Neil King Jr. and Tom Zoellner. Neil's book describes his walk from Washington, DC, to New York City, while Tom recounts his ramble across Arizona. In both books the multifarious landscapes provoke deep reflections on contemporary American life. Register here.
