Folks in the Philly area: Janice Deal, author of The Blue Door, is coming to town in mid-May. Three of our cherished local authors will be joining her to talk about the book and about fiction writing generally. If you haven't met Janice before, do seize this opportunity. Her dynamic personality matches her quirky, compelling prose.

BOOKSTORE EVENTS . . .

Wednesday, May 14, 6:30 p.m. Head House Books, 619 S. 2nd Street, Philadelphia. Janice will be in conversation with Kate Brandes, author of the brilliant novel Stone Creek. The bookstore requests that you purchase a $5 event voucher that can be applied to any purchase that evening.

Thursday, May 15, 6:30 p.m. Main Point Books, 116 N. Wayne Avenue, Wayne. A dual-author event with Elise Juska, whose moving, unsettling novel Reunion has just been released in paperback. The event is free, but to reserve a seat, follow the link above and click the "Get tickets" button.

. . . AND A SPECIAL WEEKEND DATE IN WEST PHILLY

After reading the article about events in May I found it interesting how it highlighted a range of community activities and seasonal gatherings. One detail that stood out was the mention of Mother's Day activities and different local workshops planned throughout the month. It also gave a sense of how towns prepare for small events which is something I often enjoy following and while browsing I came across Online Assignment Help in Australia which fits naturally when thinking about student support during busy times. It made me curious about how such events influence community engagement and whether more interactive activities will be added in future updates. Overall it felt like a helpful overview for planning ahead for the month locally
